About Afterglow
AfterGlow Chorus is an advanced, auditioned chamber choir of 36 highly-skilled, experienced singers based in Oakland, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area. AfterGlow’s mission is to perform beautiful choral works of all genres with the highest level of musicianship and emotional impact.

AfterGlow’s mission is to perform beautiful choral works of all genres with the highest level of musicianship and emotional meaning. Our goal is to tap into the joy within us by singing beautiful music of all genres that is emotionally meaningful.
The Music
Musical genres performed by the chorus include Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, 21st Century, spirituals, pop, rock, R&B, and jazz. Both a cappella (traditional and contemporary) works as well as accompanied pieces are performed.
Selections included a movement from the Brahms Requiem, Purcell’s masterpiece “Hear My Prayer,” several stunning African-American spirituals, Alicia Keys, Sara Bareilles, “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo (from the movie “Harriet”), “You’re All I Need to Get By” by Marin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and the gospel classic “Total Praise” by Richard Smallwood.
